From what I could gather - you are correct - it is a VDO Dayton unit with Alpine Display Screen & used only in Euro market.

I did some searching, they are very rare, I didn't find the exact unit you pictured, but I did find the AC Schnitzer unit that was made for earlier BMW's that mounted down low on front console (LHD & RHD models):

Apparently the unit is a GLONASS receiver which was used in EU market. Unfortunately, even if you found one, it is doubtful that it would work in US as the Glonass unit has been 'unofficially' banned in the US due to thoughts that Russia could use the Sat Nav System to spy on US:

Huh, that's pretty interesting too...

Well, thanks for finding out that the monitor was made by Alpine.

A quick idea and search came up with something like this...
TME-S370 - 6,5” WVGA ON-DASH TOUCH SCREEN MONITOR
Could probably have it mounted center with a Kuda mount.

Now, I just wonder if the dual zone setup lets me put the Nav info up high, or if it's video out only.

It seems to have much more features than Dynavin N6 or Pioneer ?

Power system integration : no 12v fusebox tap
Navigation split screen : the audio source and the nav instructions in the same screen
Voice recognition function
Usb hub : up to 3 usb port for multimedia files + ipod port
Gracenote playlist support
Seat heater or Start/stop buttons in the dash, no relocation
...

I go for the zenec. It was installed by my local dealer.
it's very well integrated and works perfectly
no regret

Congratulations, very nice unit. Could you show some pics and make some comments about the unit? There aren't many reviews out there on the zenec.

Another Dynavin N6 user here. I love it. Also no nasty logos plastered all over it, looks about as OEM as you can get.
