Pretty cool. Check out the Hennessey Venom GT. It's not exactly home-built but it's an exige body with over 1,000hp.

I have mixed feelings toward this car. It's awesome while it's hilariously overpriced. The only thing that John Hennessey the thief does is throwing their Darton-crate-motor based turbo LSx and mating it with a Ricardo transmission unit. If you could put your hand on one of those Venom shells (or stretch you own Exige like what this Swedish dude is doing) you could build one 1/10th of the price Hennessey asks. Still a pretty sick car.

Exige can be fitted with a variety of engine, particularly the Series 1 cars, as there is so much space in the engine bay.

Most of the early cars have been modded in some way. Mine has a Honda engine from an S2000, along with its gearbox for example. Then a supercharger and chargecooler added, for good measure...among other things

Standard S1 car had 177bhp in the 725kg car. Mine has had various weight reduction measures, but a few things (engine etc) have added weight too, so about even at the end of the day. But now has 350bhp.
