Orange ring in speedometer (speed control)
When desired speed has been set a red indicator moves up and indicates the speed.
Looking at the tachometer, a similar orange ring is in place but I cannot see that the rpm limit indicator changes position as the engine heats up. Anybody who knows why the tachometer have this orange ring? |

both the speedometer and tachometer have an orange ring. I believe it is decorative. The part that moves to indicate cruise control and descent control speed is a small white mark, separate from the orange ring.
I don't think any non-M BMW's have had a moving RPM limit indicator. But perhaps someone can correct me. |
