Luke Performance Flash results/log

So, I have gone through quite a few back-end flashes trying to fix my post shift timing flat line and a couple other flash related issues and it looks like Luke has come through! I have 8 e30 revisions from him and each time he made minor tweaks until I was satisfied. Car pulls like a freight train and things look "safe" in the logs...He has already sent me a flash that includes adjustments to the scalar to improved the negative trims a bit. Thanks Luke for your hard work and continued support!

If you consider a single cylinder and ignoring the other five safe than all the power to you. At least get the latest JB firmware.

Datazap has all six cylinders and as I mentioned elsewhere funny how such logging has instantly become utterly dangerous with few month old firmware update. All these years of single cyl timing logs and hardly a peep. One firmware update later have to hear how dangerous it is to tune that way a couple times a week now.

Apparently you're unable to read a log... Latest firmware is installed.

Has to do with the DME BT dropping. It didn't really affect things (boost, meth flow, etc) so I'm not really worried about it. Terry addressed it in another thread in the "other" forum and said not to worry about it.

Oh there were PLENTY of peeps, any of us that were running flash only seeing all 6, we always telling people running 1 cylinder only it wasn't safe, the people pushing the piggys were the ones telling everyone they didn't need it, and were safe. Now they are the same ones telling everyone 1 cylinder logging isn't safe. Funny how that works....

Let not starting that cylinders logging debate again. I think it has been beaten to dead.

+1

Obviously seeing information from all 6 cylinders/both banks is better than seeing only 1 cylinder/1 bank but some of us had no other option until recently... Funny thing is that there were very few issues (that I know of) when people were only using cylinder 1 to make sure the tune was "safe". Back in my younger years I used LT1 Edit to tune and you could only see 1 cylinder for timing... I never had any issues

You had no option until recently? Was someone forcing you to run a piggy back? We have been involved in the N54 platform for coming up on 2 years, Cobb has offered 6 clyinder logging as soon as it was released even before then. So not really sure I understand what you mean by, had no other option until recently.

Sorry..I guess I need to be more specific. By some of us I was referring to those of us who chose to run a piggyback tune for what ever reason. I had a Cobb but I went to a JB4 because of the out of the box increase in power (over Cobb), meth control and gauge hijacking. I did like the Cobb but in the JB4 was a better tune for me. I had no issues with viewing only 1 cylinder for timing info because I run e30 or better and maintain my car impeccably. After making any changes I always pulled my plugs looking for indications of lean or pre-ignition/detonation situations. Not looking to start a debate here about tunes, just trying to share my experience with the community!

Here are the logs from the latest revision Luke sent me... Looks good to me! Trims are getting better and timing is great! Little throttle closure caused by the bt_dme going down too quickly but I might set FUA to 20 to "correct" this. It does not seem to affect boost or meth flow so I might just leave it.

I don't mean to be rude. However, You can use that same argument with your turbos. No one force people to buy your turbos, but people do. RB's had been offer hybrid turbos before your company offered them. RB's also have longer proven record than your turbos. People still choose to buy your turbo's over RB's. Everyone has their reason to choose one tune over the other. The point is that before now we (piggy back users) do not have the ability to log all six cylinders. Also, we didn't have the back end flash until recently. Therefore, logging all six cylinders wasn't as important as now.
