May be OT, but does anyone know where I can pick up some custom wheel locks such that your common thief can not snatch your wheels? All mainstream stuff is easily removable. I would love to switch my wheels to some lightweight forged, but parking in the common parkade sometimes makes me regret having anything nice.

I agree that the 335d sport wheels are pretty lame (hence the reason I ditched them) but the m-sport wheels are far from being bad. Don't think I ever met one person who thought the wheels were even "meh." If they ever do crack, I'm thinking of jumping on the Apex ARC-8 wheels in gunmetal for some lightweight action.
The M sport wheels are underwhelming. The ARC8 wheels in person are pretty meh. They're too busy for an 18, but the weight is nice. I liked them a lot until I see them with their high ET and haven't since.
I like the Apex ec7 (or something like that) in the 18", but it's relatively average in weight. I saw it in person and fell in love, but online it looks okay at best.

All just opinions!

And I rightfully respect your opinion! I was looking into the EC-7 but it's just not my style. Just curious but in BMW's entire wheel lineup, which one do you think actually looks good?

I had read at the tail end of the 2011 M-sport production that the 193 wheels were "used up" and they had to resort to other wheels. I interpreted Kaylin's car as this being the case. Trying to say that the last M-sports came from Munich this way.

The 359, on M's. Sexy. The apex 8 doesn't have the deep/bold lines that fit our bulky E90's. Same goes for the 19" BMW Performance wheels for the e90- they have thin open designs that feel very separate from the car. Good wheels blend with body sight lines seamlessly and depending on the car (e90 vs e92's for example) some wheels look great on one and just wrong on the other.

On our cars with their huge shoulders you need a lot of surface area on the wheel, so the 162 is my favorite. Even today, but they don't look right on LCI's. I'm super picky. I went with M359's but sometimes I think they're too busy when viewed from head on. I'll never be satisfied!

That's off. They were very inexpensive on Tischer for a long time which would suggest over supply.
My theory would be that they weren't desirable. It's an opinion I adopted from many others...
In the 335i forums almost everyone bashed those wheels for being too pedestrian and I think that's what the issue was. They aren't aggressive/suggestive of being the wheel that comes on the baddest non-M. They belong on a sports wagon.

I've attached what was available at the tail end of 335d production for NA and it includes the wheels that Kaylin's car has. There was no other choice for a 335d M-sport at the time.

Those appear to be 189's, the wheels pictured earlier that came on 335i sport pack equipped LCI E90's.

Thanks PL. This was my point. I wasn't saying one was preferred over the other. I definitely recall one guy being pissed that he wasn't getting the 193s and his car was shipped with 189s and he ordered it. I read this over on main forum of the 'fest.

FWIW, I've gotten board with my 193s but don't want to go to 19". I'm wanting to stay at 18" to keep taller sidewall and a little better ride.

Yeah, it was interesting, as I would have preferred the 193's myself, but didn't like the color combinations offered by the M sport option, not to mention the extra cost.
