Any know if its ever been done?
I want it, but it looks like this is only ever going to work on post 03/2007 production cars

yes, requires 3/07 or later hardware

could maybe swap everything over, but that's way above my e90 pay grade

Not sure if the actually tranny is different at all, but since the pre 03/07's use an entirely different CAN (i think?) then its going to take a LOT of replacing...
hah i suppose if theres a will theres a way, as long as theres plenty of disposable income... Id swap in an LSD rear end and the M3 6MT if that were the case.

sorry, I was referring to computer hardware, not the physical transmission (think that was the same before/after 3/07)
