Suspension help: buying Konis and H&Rs
I finally decided I 'm going with Koni Yellows and H&R Sport springs. A few general questions:
Do I need the bump stops? Is there a separate kit? I know a lot of people do this mod as well as it makes sense. Also, to compliment the new suspension do I go with the M3 Suspension bushings? Lastly, is it the REAR M3 or e93 anti sway bar or the FRONT that people are using? Thanks in advance. |

I just did this combo a few weeks ago. Definitely get the M3 fronts and Z3 rear bump stops, they are shorter than stock and you'll want the extra travel being almost an inch lower than stock sports stance. Search this forum for the part numbers for the bump stops. Found the bushing part numbers from Turner's site.
I also replaced the strut top hats and drilled out the alignment pin. Gave a nice amount of negative camber that I could feel right away turning into a turn. For the rears I replaced all the bushings, top and bottom. I had to reuse one of the top nuts for the bottom of the konis cause they didn't provide hardware and the stock lower nut is not the right thread. You also want to set the rear close to full stiff, I'm at 1/2 turn from full stiff. I started at half turn from full soft and that was a mistake. Rear end would try to skip out going over expansion joints. Now it's much more stable. Its a low and stiff ride with the h&rs, but fine for me as my dd. --Mike |
