Claims that the spare from a Camaro will fit the E90/92 without a spacer

Can anyone confirm if there is any truth to info posted on Bimmerfest claiming that the small spare from a late model Camaro will fit our BMWs without a spacer?http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=242113 .Would be a lot cheaper as well.

"Camaro 1993 thru 2002. No you do not need a spacer."

Wow... who would have thought....

ummmm...

BMW wheels specs: 5X120, centerbore of 72.56mm

Camaro wheel specs: 5X120.7, centerbore of 70.3mm

its close, but with those numbers, the camaro wheel will not be resting on the hub but on the lugs, which are NOT designed to bear the weight of the vehicle.

IMHO, this is a bad idea.
