Backup camera recommendation?

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=947160

I saw this thread and I wanted to do the same thing. What do I need to get a backup camera with dynamic parking lines? I have a 2011 E90 335i with CIC and PDC.

Can I just use a trunk handle camera with a generic emulator? Or do I need a specific emulator to give me the guidelines?

EDIT: Do I even need an emulator if I have CIC? Most retrofits I've seen are non-CIC systems.

In order to get dynamic parking lines your only option (AFAIK) is Bimmer-Tech. They are the only vendor that I have found that offers this functionality. It is a tricky system to get as it has to tap in to the CANBUS to get the steering angle from the steering wheel sensor. They have both an OEM look solution as well as an aftermarket type solution that fills the entire screen. I got the latter as I do not have PDC.

has anyone ever used something like this? It seems like a working alternative.

I have a similar system for my backup. Not sure it that one has multiple av inputs but mine has 2 on top of the reverse cam input. I have a front camera (useless lol) and ipod video hooked up to it as well. The lines don't move but it's there and it's from the camera itself.

Good luck!

^^^ Also note: in that ebay listing it states the car MUST have PDC. In order to activate the OEM rear camera screen the car needs to have PDC installed or it will not work. That is why you pay for the vendor options, they have solved this issue and also have plug and play harnesses so you aren't cutting wires in your BMW.

My car hasPDC so that is not an issue. I did not think about the harness issue though
