Need Help with a sound system
Hey all first off thanks for reading my post!
I have an E90 Sedan and am looking at upgrading my sound system. I really to be quite honest dont know much about how a sound system works all I really know is you need component speakers // Subs and an Amp. I want to get a kick ass sound system with a good bass and loud speakers. My price range for the parts is between 1.5 and 3k so any help is appreciated. The only parts i have looked at so far are by JL but ill look at anything. P.S. i know this post is vague but i dont know much about this yet thanks ! |

A lot has already been posted, some by me..
Start here first, http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86780 - read then ask more questions when you have a better idea of what is out there. Although the following thread refers to an E91 (touring) the principle is the same. Even if you already have the Premium Hi-Fi options (not Logic 7) the basis is the same - you will need to add amp and speakers.

Would you be DIY'ing or paying a shop? There are plenty of enthuisiasts down south that would be willing to give you a hand.
For $1.5k (w/o installation) you can get ALOT of stuff. To be completely honestI would start off by getting 2 10s or 12s, wired to your stock HU and such. Your interior speakers won't be pushing so much bass so they will sound cleaner.

I replaced front and rear speakers with Morel Hybrid Ovations 4" components and a JL 10"sub. Added 2 amps, JL slash series 500/1 for the sub and JL4 channel for the Morels. Left the factory subs on the factory amp and of course, kept the factory HU. PIC of sub:
I had the large 4 channel placed in top part of trunk, slightly visible in sub pic(top right) and the 1 channel in tire storage area with plenty of storage space to spare. Hardly any trunk space was taken so it is very clean. |
