BC Racing Coilover, how bad is it???

Seeing people on here kept selling their used 2-3 months/low miles BC Racing coilover weekly and went for some other coilover setup, now was it because of a bad ride quality? Can you share your (bad or somewhat bad) experience on BCR coilover?

I have Bilstein PSS10 but looking to buy BCR as a long term spare setup while sending Bilstein for service maintenance.

Thanks,
J-

Depending on your needs, BC Racing coilovers aren't bad...just maybe misleading. Maybe they assumed 'Racing' being equivalent to performance? They are a good cheap solution for someone wanting an adjustable suspension or 'stance' their car on a budget. If you spirit drive here and there, you'll be fine. If you track or desire superior handling, you'll be better off with a different system.

Since you're looking for a temp solution while you get your bilstein serviced, you'll be fine. Thought about doing the same but said bump it. If you have a garage and two sets of jack stands, you can leave the car up until they come back. You'll save a good amount of time when you reinstall them.

my bc br racing is about 2 weeks old lol so i cant answer your question yet haha

but i know someone who has his bc for a few months now and he loves it.

sometimes its how you install it.

for xi owners like me it doesnt really go low.. so if you wana slam your car bc br is not your coilovers.

but for me its low enough..

+1 I got the extreme lows and I could still raise them to nearly stock height. I got 10k front springs 16k rear to help with rubbing.

It's a budget suspension setup for someone who wants to be able to slam their car, not for anyone who is actually looking for performance/quality/comfort.

We may be able to help you better if you mention what you would like out of the coilovers. I have been running BC BR Coilovers on my e92 for a few months now and there are people I would recommend them to as well as people I would tell to stay away from them completely.

Please let us know what your goals are, hard to help someone when we don't know what your driving style is.

So for daily driving, just a moderate drop, nothing slammed. Would you recommend them? Ride quality is my main concern. Right now I have sport suspension and it great.

I am running bc coilovers with extreme drop springs and I hated them the moment I installed them and drove down the street. The ride isn't very smooth and It bottoms out pretty hard when I hit a dip. Even with the regular spring which didn't go low enough for me. Just my .02 cent

I would definitely not recommend them for ride quality, although there are not many people who would expect Coilovers to have a more comfortable ride than stock suspension.

BC BR Coilovers are great if you NEED adjustment at a low price, this is for people who are trying to get that perfect stance or just want to be able to adjust between track days and commuter days. They are also great if you have near perfect roads and you live in a place without Winter (Austin, TX for example)

If you are looking to improve the ride quality of the sport suspension then your main problem is the stock dampeners, I would highly recommend swapping them with Koni yellow or FSDs and keeping the stock Sport Springs. If you want it lower then I would recommend a combination of the FSDs and H&R Sport springs.

People need to keep in mind that these Coilovers are a Chinese competing product, they are half the price of the KW V2s and you can feel that in the way they drive.

Thank you for the explanation.

Since my primary goal is a slight drop while maintaining OEM sport ride quality, seems like KONI FSD & HR springs might be way to go, considering I want to spend around $1k.
