Could you put dynamat on the inside of the gas door?

i could try but what seems to be the problem is that it bounces because of the vibration i need to hold it in place. i have tried cushioning it and even velcro but no luck. it sounds terrible!

Well the dynamat is there to absorb the vibration. Go try that and report back.

I've never heard of this happening before. You must have the bass on max and the volume real loud. HyperM3's solution is the best.

Actually, I just thought of another solution. Put the armrest down in the back seat and remove the center ski pass. That should help increase the volume area for the bass.

Still i think that dynamat would not be sufficient. To explain it another way is that the lid opens and closes bouncing to the rhythm of the beat. I have tried to Velcro it shut but no luck as after about10 minutes after that it just carries on bouncing.

Dont know what to tell ya then. Turn down the music is probably the best solution.

dynamat will not help your situation. the gas cap is rattling because u are pressurizing your trunk with the subs. they need to be force loaded through the ski port or free aired from the rear deck. this way all of the bass pressure will be loaded directly into the cab not stuck in the trunk.
it isnt the cheapest way but will have no rattles. also best for sound quality. |

There is a piece of metal where your ski pass should be (if you had one). Take off the carpet, take a rubber mallet and pound it out, put carpet back in. Part of the solution solved.

I have the same problem. I have foam tape and laid it heavily around the edges. It works pretty well but still not perfect.
