Plasti Dipped Grills
Didn't want to fork out the money for some black grills so I decided to give plasti dip a shot. Used black and a glossifier after to give em a slight shine. Thinking about going back and giving em another coat of glossifier to get more of a shine. Don't mind the hole in my bumper some fruit cake in a truck with a trailer hitch decided to back into my car while parking.

Looks Good
Greetings,
The grills turned out nice...would be very curious to know how well the Plastidip holds up after a few thousand road miles. Sorry to see Mr. Fruitcake's brilliant display of improperly backing up. Good luck with the repairs - suggest a new bumper. Depending on the quality of repairing/replacing/repainting the bumper, you might consider a clear bra for the bumper. I'm only suggesting a clear bra because of "re-painting." Semper Fi |

I've been hoping to be able to get an M type bumper out of this whole ordeal but if the body shop says they can patch it I'll save my money and go that route. |

Looks good, I recently plastidipped my grills (no glossifier, in my experience it really doesn't do anything :P) and its holding up perfectly.

I gave it a few really wet coats of glossifier and saw some nice results. After a wash and letting the paint set the shine is actually pretty sweet, but results always vary.

My grilles have been plasti dipped black for over 15k miles. Still look like the day I did them. The rest of my bumper...not so much.

Like mentioned above. Plasti dip will last a while if properly taken care of. If you want a shiny appearance then the key is applying a wet coat. You can tell the difference because it will look clear and glossy rather than glossy matte. You can make it almost as glossy as your paint if you apply a clear coat on top of the glossifier. Apply it in light coats. I would get a lot of coats on and then wet sand and polish the clear. Will look spectacular. But if you choose to just stick with the plasti dip here are some tips to make it last longer and look better. After you let the dip dry I would apply any spray wax. Spray the wax onto a microfiber and apply gently. It will make the dip much more slick and less sticky. It will make it a bit more glossy. Can also be applied to matte dip. In that case I would use a matte spray wax. You can find one of those on chemicalguys.com. I am a plasti dip installer in Las Vegas and use these tricks all the time. Good luck

I just did the chrome outer circles on mine and I love it. I left the slits on the grill chrome to compliment my silver car. I love it. I also blacked out the side markers on the front bumper with the plasti dip...looks good but if I don't like I can just peel it off.
