does my 2011 e90 335i needs a clutch?

Hi everyone, my car seems very slow, I notice today driving on the highway that when I hit the gas the tach would move up fast but the car would not accelerate right away, then after about a second the tach drops and I feel the car starting to pull, it also seems slow at take off. I purchase the car used I have only put about 1k miles on it, so I don't know if it is normal as I can't reference to when the car was new .

She now has 29K miles.

My reason to suspect something is not right is that power is kind of disappointing, could it be a boost issue and not the clutch? What would you recommend for a cost conscious owner to measure boost?

Thanks for your help.

Best way to check if the clutch is on its way out is to put it in 6th at low speed (~50 mph) and Mash the throttle. If your clutch is going then you'll see the tach raise without a corresponding change in vehicle speed. If that happens i's time to start saving for a clutch job although with only 29k miles it seems unlikely that the clutch would be failing unless you purchased the car from someone who didn't know how to drive with one. 29,000 miles is incredibly low for needing replacement. Good luck.

Thanks for your advice, so I did the test going ~50 miles, then pedal to the metal. The results where inconclusive, I did notice that at times the tach would move up as if free for a second or too 1k-2k RPM with no corresponding increase on car speed, then the car would start to pull as the tach drops down 1k-2k rpm apparently corresponding to the car speed on the sixth gear....
I also notice that the car does not shift smoothly on 1st and reverse, as I did not own the car for long I don't know if this is normal, but I am guessing it is not because the corolla I owned several years ago, and a civic even before that shifted much more smoothly...
