I'd definitely recommend Cobb Accessport! Easy setup, good customer support, log directly from the device, easily change maps, check/clear error codes, and you can use the AP screen to display gauges for specific parameters you select. And the power difference from stock to OTS maps is definitely noticeable. If you decide you want to squeeze more power out of your car then a pro-tune is recommended.

The AP screen can be mounted in your car and used as a boost gage right ?

Not just boost. There are a ton of different things you can monitor. Too many to list!

That's awesome!! I'm guessing it has to be plugged in at the same time with that wire?

I went from JB+ at 100% to Cobb stage 1 sport and I am glad I did. The most noticeable difference was how consistent the power delivery was. There were days where the JB+ was a serious kick in the pants and others that had me wondering if I skipped a gear.

I think I'm gonna pick me up AccessPort v3, Mishimoto rad, larger FMIC, and 850W cooling fan from the PPK.

Edit: That's an expensive ass fan......I think that can wait.

Why do you need an aftermarket radiator?

The AP can be mounted anywhere you want in the car as long as it's connected to the OBD2 port via the cable it comes with. You can monitor way more than just boost. Check out Cobb's website for more info: http://www.cobbtuning.com/BMW-N54-Ac...highlights/bmw

To be honest, because it's easier to install than the auxiliary water cooler from the PPK. I figure if the PPK calls for it for just an increase of 20 ish HP, additional cooling capacity would be good for an aftermarket tune. Longevity and reliability is important to me. Mishimoto rads are well-rated.

Coming from an E46, I've found that BMWs run very hot. I want to be sure it's adequately cooled for any performance mods that I do.

That's just been my reasoning behind it and how I plan to go about it when I jump into Cobb world.
