Help! 335i Multiple Dealer Repairs
First some background. I have a 2009 335i that I bought from a dealer CPO; extended warranty purchase from them as well. I purchased the car about 2 years ago and with in that time period had multiple repairs done. Here is a short list:
1. TPM issues; brought in 3-4 times for it consecutively 2. Brake sensor issues 3. Fuel injector issues 4. Engine Replacement 5. Multiple O2 sensor issues and replacements 6. Intake value replacement 7. Intake value issues after replacement 8. HP & LP Fuel pump replacement 9. SINGLE turbo replacement There are probably more more things that were done, but I don't remember off the top of my head. For the intake value issue they tried quoting me $1.2k before I mentioned it should be under warranty. I've contacted BMW North America and they got the cars services records from the dealer. I've brought the car into the dealer for ALL repairs and Oil changes ever done during my ownership. BMW North America finally got back to me and said, here's $2,600 for your troubles. Am I just SOL with the car? This can't be normal wear and tear can it? Would appreciate any advice given |

Wait. They did all of that work under warranty, then mailed you a check for $2,600 "for your troubles". I might be reading this wrong, but I'd say you're doing alright.

It was all replaced under warranty, but my concern is with after the warranty ends.
I don't expect all repairs to be always covered, but with so many I've had since I've owned the car, I'm worried once it ends the repair cost will be more than what the car is worth. With the current history, I'm bringing my car into the dealer every 2-3 months. That can't be normal BMW maintenance can? |

First I think some questions should be asked. Is the car modded or stock? Stick or auto? Are you beating on the car or regular driving? Those all can play a part in it but if it isn't user error, I'd say you got a car built on a Friday evening. Also Most likely that nice $2600 check.... Was the money you spent for your warranty. I'd check to see if you still have one before cashing it, and if you do or don't and still plan on keeping it, take that money and buy a aftermarket warranty.

Car was JB4 modded and DCI. Ran Map 1 & 5
Daily driver and do a few spirited freeway on ramp merges once in a while. Don't even redline or 100% throttle it. I mean i know modding the car can have adverse effects on it, but the things failing shouldn't be from the research I've done prior to modding. Sorry, I guess this is more of a rant and you have to P2P And i think you're right the $2,600 is to get warranty again. |

I wasn't trying to get on you for modding your car. Their are people pushing 600+ without issues. From the history of your car, and knowing something will go wrong. 1. I'd try to get the history of service before you got the car, it sounds like you were sold a lemon to me. If it had issues its whole life, I'd take it to court. 2. If the issues came with you, I'd trade it in and take that $2600 as the lube for how much you'd loose trading it in. 3. If you do want to keep it for some odd reason, most your issue are electrical, and all can be caused by a short or ground in your electrical system ie ecu, jb4 harness, wiring harness and so forth. If you plan on keeping it, I say you try to track down the demon that might be living in the system.

I'm going to see if anything happens to the car in the next month or two, if it does and BMW North America still tells me though luck, i'll look for legal actions |
