If so, are you experiencing this?
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=926864 I'm hoping we're not subject to this, since we have a different Ecu. But, since BMW considers it a "feature" and not a "bug", I'm not optimistic...

I'm at 238xxx km as of this post.
I don't know what that is in miles, I live in canada lol. I know I plan on keeping the car for a while still, at least until 300km then might just become a track rat. I don't use the oil light anyways, I do my oil changes every 8-10km exclusively with motul 5w40. |

186,000 miles or 300,000km is the magic number since the CBS is programmed to stop working after that, so if you are under the threshold its really irrelevant.

Yep. 186,000+ miles or 300,000+ km, with an attempted service interval reset. Anything else is meaningless for this thread.

Also specifically needs to be 328i/xi owners. 330i owners need not apply.

Because in this case, when it stops functioning at 186,000 miles, you also lose your oil level readout.

Yep. Electronic dip stick becomes inaccurate and we don't have a mechanical backup. Inexcusable.

I did see that it changes the behavior of the oil level indicator, but surely they wouldn't completely disable that. I do find it odd that it changes it at all though, and I hope that somebody comes up with the software solution to eliminate this issue. Otherwise, I will have to take a crack at it... We don't want that

(And yells at you to service the oil every time you get into and out of the car, making it both annoying and less likely you notice other issues. I really dislike modern BMW.
