Been to it, it's ultra awesome!
There's usually a newsletter email and they usually prioritize those that get it that way, but visit this site to wait in the standby list: http://ude.bmwusa.com/ If it's anything like the one I went to, they allow you to drive all sorts of cars, and the one I've went to had the M5, M6, and Alpina B7 for a road test, and M3s for a quick spin around an autocross track; interestingly enough there wasn't any regular models (e.g. 1er, 2er, 328/335, X5, etc. but then again I went pretty late)... Then a reception with booze and an exclusive dinner made by a celebrity chef (my meal was prepared by Hugh Acheson).

I posted when registration opened.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1039657 I went to the Hallandale Beach one for the 5 series and it was fun, so this one for the 235i should be fun as well. |

If it is the same as with the Hallandale Beach one, you go through a simple talk on the car and general driving dynamics by an instructor, then some laps with an instructor, and finally you take take turns with other attendees on a couple of laps around the autocross. A lot of time for a few minutes behind the wheel, but if you beat the crap out of it during your turn, it is still worth the fun. You can also do a street test drive of a model of your choice (by yourself).

Anyone attend? It's still running and it is quite fun. Went today and did the 228i autocross. Six practice laps and almost two timed laps. DSC on but you can set Sport setting and S auto or manual shift auto. Was definitely fun. Set well enough for the 228i. M235i would be overkill. The 228 has massive turbo lag off the line, but is very well balanced on turns. Steering is a little detached. Overall worth the visit. An i8 is there for you to poke around it.

i went for the am session sunday. i thought it was ok.. too much time waiting for a few 20 second laps and was under the impression i'd be driving a M235, but it is what it is.
also annoyed i wasn't allowed to turn off traction/stability control, but again it is what it is. seems you got a few more laps than myself. i only got 4 and even though i was the last car she had me end a lap early.. maybe because i pulled up on the car ahead of me too quickly? lol i would definitely do it again. no prob beating on someone elses car, but i'd like a few more laps lol. cool that you got to time your laps. |

I went on sunday, m sport 228, had msport sides rotors and brakes. got 3rd in my group but i was messing around the whole time with my buddy lol
it was fun, i agree the 235 wouldve been overkill. the track isn't that big and its w.e. but its fun to beat on a car that isn't yours.
