good read, some interesting facts in there. didnt know the DEF tanks are supposed to be flushed for every service. this is probably why so many people have problems with the SCR system getting crystallization and failures.

It was once in the maintenance schedule, but for some reason, BMW of NA decided not to do it any more.

im pretty sure people get crystallization because they dont drive hard enough. All of the crystals are UREA soluble, so as long as you keep fluid splashing around enough in the tank you shouldnt really get any deposit build up. At least, thats what I keep telling myself
