Quaife LSD I have the Torque Specs.. Someone help me identify the parts!
Ok so my Quaife LSD goes in this or next week here in germany. Unfortunatley the directions are shitty and i requested torque specs.. Im not to technical of a person can anyone point out on the pictures from REALOEM.com the specific torque bolts that they mention.. I need to somehow show the shop pictures and explain these specs and to translate in german is difficult
The torque figures are as follows 1) Drive shaft bolts = 83nm 2) Diff end cover bolts = 45nm 3) Crown wheel bolts torque is specified in the instalation instructions supplied 100nm then torque angle 30 degress 4) diff carrier to body rubber mounts = 100nm I found these 2 pictures so far... anything else im missing.. Really Appreciate the help.. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...32&hg=26&fg=05 http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.d...14&hg=26&fg=10 http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...41&hg=33&fg=10 |

Not sure, but post up all the info you receive as I know there are others, including myself, who are looking into the LSD. As far as i know from reading around here though theres other things you need to worry about. I forgot what they are called though, but they may likely be damaged in the process of removing the old one.

You need to work with an experienced shop that knows all this stuff and does diffs on a regular basis. Shims, bearings, a number of things must be done right.

Shims that was it that you needed. That's foreign to me which is why I'm hoping there's plenty of info that materializes in this thread.
