Just fitted new discs and pads...

...they are EBC yellow stuff pads on the 3GD discs. Are they going to take a little while to run in? They don't feel very strong at this point. Felt like at one point as if I wasn't going to stop when slowly approaching a junction. Maybe these semi-ceramic pads work from cold but do get better with a bit of heat in them?

So some research and it sounds like the next 200 to 500 miles will see the brakes bed in.
I can see already that contact between pads and disc is still leveling out. Contact surface should gradually increase.

At the moment your pads have a bed in compound on top, so its not actually using the brake compound which is underneath and comes after. You need to make sure you bed them in properly or else you'll have poor performance. See here: http://ebcbrakes.com/articles/how-to...ban-driving-2/

No worries. Just be patient with your bed in, it can sometimes take over 1000 miles. Try and follow that procedure exactly. If done properly you'll be rewarded later on with better stopping power and no noise.

Well the pad contact looks pretty much continuous and even now after 800 miles. Last night I found a good bit of straight quiet road and tried some hard braking from 70 mph about 7 times. The brakes feel great.
I then drove some dual carriageway miles to let them cool. They should be nicely broken in now. No worries about stopping any more! Considering I can match an E60 M5 for acceleration from some recent tests, that's good to know.

Good to hear yours are fully bedded in now matey I'm about 150 miles into mine and at the moment they feel amazing but according to the EBC procedure that's just down to the bed-in coating.

I have full contact on the fronts but the rears are only 75% at the moment so have a while to go yet before I can even think about the hard stops to complete the bed in procedure.
