More testing done
Another coil was bad, replaced that
No more codes
Still shuts down between 5-7k on high loads on any map

Will be putting in a new HPFP hopefully this week
Here are some pictures of my Procede that I finally got around to taking
Anyone know what version this is? It has the serial to USB adapter

New HPFP installed, fixed long cranks and a few other jitters but it still shuts down hard at random higher RPMs under load.

I saw Procede V3 has a 'hard limiter' option that sounds exactly like whats happening but I have a V2.5 as you can see in the above pictures and dont have any setting to make it stop like that.

I am going to go ahead and say its the Procede because nothing stock would make the car do that (according to my Beemer mechanic)

Will be unplugging the unit to test shortly.

Does anyone know if i can just unplug it from the unit itself or do I have to take out all the wiring as well??

Your problem is that you're running a Procede. Honestly dude no one runs it anymore as the company has pretty much completely given up on the platform. Switch to a Cobb or JB4...

If I were you I would change all you plugs cheap and easy . Everyone that runs high boost tune changes plugs often. Also would be help full for you to post a log of what is happening or you will just have to keep guessing.

You still haven't sorted it hey? I pulled my procede in the end when I couldn't get around this particular issue, I'm going to go jb4 soon and see what happens, at least there is big support with the jb.

You would need to revert the wiring back to stock as well.

The PROcede is fine. I ran it for years so don't listen to all the hate. It worked great.

That being said there still could be an issue with it in terms of functionality or software.

I'd suggest re-loading fresh firmware and maps first. Follow the read me and instructions meticulously.

For downloads of firmware and maps go to : http://www.procedetuning.com/BMW/n54...downloads.html

Use Aggressive v5 9_10__BETA.zip Maps. 7-29 had some problems in the past.

During that process adaptations are reset too.

I know it's been a while since you posted but this is advice for you and anyone in a similar situation.

What some people don't realize is hardware can effect the way a vehicle runs and although it runs fine "stock" it's also running 2x less boost.

Spark Plugs, Coils, Fuel Pumps, Vanos solenoids, injectors all need to be running in tip top condition for tuned vehicles.

What are the latest codes occurring?

Did you upload fresh firmware and maps?

I did all of that about 10 times, I tried every version that I could try software wise... I really really wanted it to work and stuck at it for weeks and weeks but no one could give me any proper answer's, no one could review my logs and tell me what they were seeing. At least I know what it is not after all the thing's op has replaced chasing it.

Finally got around to pulling out the Procede.
Yes, the problem went away and I was able to shift all the way through the RPM range.
With that said there was also some corrosion on one of the harnesses which may or may not have had an effect on that problem. I will be cleaning all the pinouts and putting it back in to find out if it was that hardware problem or not.
The procede has the latest firmware and im not sure which maps I was running.
Anyone know which are the most stable?
I will put them on there when I put it back in.

edit: Jeff you said to use the aggressive maps, are they the most stable currently?

You might want to contact Shiv...they still respond pretty good to email. I purchased a used Procede Rev. 3 locally and had issues where power would randomly cut out and they diagnosed it as a bad box and sent me a new one. I just unplugged the old and plugged the new one into the old harness and all issues went away. The old box also did not save the map I was on after shutting the car off...had to reset it every time I got in it. I have been running the 9-10 aggressive maps for some time and have never had a single issue after my box was replaced.

I cleaned the harness and put it back in with worse problems popping up immediately. The unit is out and I am sending back to Vishnu. Their support email said they cant do anything until they have the unit. So we will see what happens with that. If the repair is more than 100 im just gonna grab a JB4 and be done with this.

Final update:

Rev 2.5 doesn't support the newer firmware or maps which is why it was doing all sorts of funky stuff including inducing headaches. I sent it back to Vishnu for them to make the proper upgrades to the board so someone can actually get use out of it.

That being said I do have the fixed and tested unit for sale since while I was waiting for them to refurb it I picked up a BMS meth kit and a few days later a G5 JB4 to run it.

So if anyone wants the fixed unit, let me know, $300
