Cobb users who switch maps from reg. to E30 - do u get P2AAF (Fuel Pump) codes?

So I had run out of E30, so switched to regular gas and 2+ map. Then when I filled up with E30, switched back to the OTS Cobb map, and did a few 3 gear WOT runs and logged them. No CEL's.

When I stopped and checked for codes though, to my surprise, there was a P2AAF (Fuel Pump Plausibility) code. I've yet to check out my logs for fuel trim and the LPFP pressure, but here's the other strange thing:

After clearing the code, I did two more WOT 3rd gear runs, and got no code at all!

So can it be that when you first switch from a regular map to an E30 map, the car throws the fuel pump code, and then doesn't, because it's now adjusted to the extra fuel flow?

I'm hoping I don't have a HPFP problem!

p2AAF is nothing related to hpfp. Had that ever since I replaced the lpfp pump to an e85 complaint pump and running e85. You'll always be seeing it. Harmless if you asked me...

I have been running an ethanol pro-tune for a couple years and pretty much always had the p2AAF. Not a big deal.

If you can reset adaptions with INPA it will pop up much less frequently.

Interesting. Thanks guys.

I know another case when 2AAF is harmless. I know it comes up when gas is low, if you make a sharp left turn, when accelerating. That's happened to me a few times, and I even felt a hiccup during acceleration.

@JStang - So an ECU reset with Cobb won't do the trick?

No. You need to reset adaptions in INPA. Either way, it's nothing to worry about.
