Transmission Fluid Change

Finally did it at 63K. Car drives better. Not a huge difference but the car is more responsive off the line and generally shifts more smoothly.

Did you do it yourself or have a dealer/independent shop do it for you?

How bad did the fluid look? I was planning to have done at 80K. Near the end but still within warranty in case something "happens".

All the fluid I going to mostly look the same unless its full of metal. The ZF fluid oxidizes in a short period of time, which is normal I guess for their fluid, so its all going to be ugly black when it comes out regardless of condition. I think a UOA might be the only way to know for our fluid.

How much fluid did you end up putting back in the car? and do you have part numbers for pan gasket, filter, and fluid?.. I think I'm going to service the ZF when I do my next engine oil change in 3000 miles (25,000 miles on car, total). I play very hard and have had no transmission problems.. Would like to keep it that way
