Aftermarket deck and alarm install possible?

Okay, I'll make it quick and simple...two questions:
1.) I am installing my 7" flip out CD/MP3/DVD player in place of the factory deck, what will this affect?

2.) I am also planning on installing an aftermarket alarm/remote start (compustar spread spectrum). Is this install even possible with the push button start and the key fob insertion? Reason I want the compustar is: a.) 1.25 mile range b.) two-way pager c.) remote start works with a manual d.) great experience with it on other cars.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

good luck man. i think im one of the few on this board that realize that anything can be done to any car, depending on money and patience, but i think you are about to tackle two VERY complicated things. there are many posts about a fiberoptic type system that the e90 uses for the radio, and it appears adding an external radio might turn out to be a major problem. you might wanna consider other options, maybe, such as adding a second tv with aux input for the passanger, or checking out the nav2go unit that is being offered on this board. You will 99.999% lose steering wheel controls, definitly voice controls, who knows if the stock speakers or amp will work anymore.
Also as far as i know, no one has done the aftermarket alarm. our key has a transmitter in it, that needs to be in the car for the car to start. i know that most DEI alarm systems have gotten past this on a lot of other cars with immobilizers, so it might not be a problem, but i dont think anyone has officially done it on the e90. i wouldnt trust anyone less then the BEST alarm/stereo shop in your area. good luck.
