Stage 1 Aggressive on California 91 safe?
Just bought my e93 335i a few months ago. Thinking about getting the Cobb AP Tune however the HP and TQ increases from the Stage 1 Sport seem to be so low that I doubt I would feel a difference. I haven't found any reviews of a stock n55 with Cobb to hear about it, but the numbers look very low. The Stage 1 aggressive seems to be more substantial. Has anyone here had any problem with running the Stage 1 aggressive on California 91 fuel? This is my DD so I would plan on leaving it on there all the time.

Why not run a few gallons of e85. Then do some pulls while data logging. Check for timing drops and make sure your fueling is within spec. I been running stage 1 aggressive with 2 gallons of e85 the rest 91 octane. I only have an FMIC and intake. No problems here and logs look better than stock lol

Check out Pro Tuning Freaks and consider buying the Cobb AP from them. You get a custom tune from them for just a little more than the cost of buying the AP direct from Cobb. They use the Cobb Stage 1 Sport tune as a starting point, and then dial it in further from there based on data logs you pull from your car and email to them. They then email you a new map to upload to your car via the AP based on the data log you sent them. I did this recently and was very pleased with the outcome. When I got my 335i last summer it already had the BMW PPK installed, which was a modest 30 HP and 32 lb-ft gain over the stock N55 engine. I could not tell much difference between the Cobb Stage 1 Sport and the BMW PPK, but as soon as I installed the custom PTF tune there was a huge gain in power. It was really cool. Went back and forth a few more times with PTF over the next 2 weeks dialing it in, with smaller incremental gains each time, until they said it was done. Highly recommended, it does take some time, effort and patience on your part, but worth it IMO!
