They have been installed. Picture will be posted soon. Thanks everyone!
I want to install blacklines on my e90 and need tools. Could anyone lend me tools or better yet give me a hand with the lights? PM please. TIA Last edited by 06-325; 11-18-2007 at 05:04 PM.. |

You just need some common tools, phillips, needle nose pliers. It's very easy if you use the diy from this forum. I'm not good at this type of stuff at all, and I did both lights in about 45 minutes. Somebody with a little experience could do it in less then 30 minutes easy.

Yeah, I consider myself pretty handy as I used to do oil change, breaks, spark plugs and such on my old cars. When I moved coast to coast I left everything behind including my tools even the basic ones. I am thinking about buying Metrinch. Any comments on Metrinch?

Ha ha..aint that the truth. Damn carpet plugs! The other part that slowed me up was making sure I didn't lose a screw on the inside part of the trunk. I ended up placing a towel in there in case I dropped one.

Seriously, it would be quicker for you to stop by Pep Boys or AutoZone, get an 8mm socket, a cheapo socket wrench (3/8-inch) or (1/4-inch drive), and a small flathead screwdriver to gently pry the plugs on the trunk lining fasteners. When you pry the plugs, pry the center portion of the plug up and out first, then the entire plug will come out.
Each outer light has three 8mm head nuts that hold them in. Then it's just a matter of lining everything up, and plugging in the electrical plugs. It's so easy, a caveman could do it. I saw this guy do an install... |
