N54 Oil Flushing/Cleaning. Looking for Recommendations

Hey guys,

Purchased my first N54 in August, 135i. Posting here due to the larger N54 population with the 335i.

Anyway, previous owner liked to follow the maintenance schedule... Or at least when it was under BMW warranty it seems. I purchased it, and noticed it needed a brake fluid flush and oil change. I unfortunately fell in love with the car and only asked afterwards about his OCI. He hadn't changed the oil in two years because it was still under the BMW 20,000km interval. /facepalm

So I immediately changed the oil with GC 0W-30. I've since put about 2500km on it, and it's now stored for the winter. In the spring I'm going to do another GC 0W-30 oil change and likely a flush. It runs like clockwork, the engine is one of the smoothest N54s I've heard (test drove a lot of them) but it also has only 50,000km on it.

So, my question: is a more frequent OCI enough to keep it running smooth, would a GC flush help, or is there something more aggressive that would make sure everything is squeaky clean. I'm going to be walnut blasting and replacing the intake manifold gasket this spring, I may snake a camera into the cylinders at the same time to have a peek. I'll be increasing boost shortly after so I want to make sure it's running optimally first.

Thanks in advance!

No need for anything aggressive. Just change oil say initially at 5k then 7k or so. A tip for oil change...drive car for 15-20mins to get oil temp 210 or above. Then quickly drain. GC 0w30 is a good oil. Altho, i think its BC 0w30 now

Thanks man! Yeah I think it's Belgian too lol. Still a group 4 oil though! And agreed, changing oil when it's warm is the best way to do it!
