Are you kidding? Peugeot diesels are found in other high level brands like Land Rover etc. They won LeMans with a diesel a few years back.
The technology of direct injection diesel as well as emissions equipment is not new. That is why I suspect the fuel supply in NA as more the culprit, but its only a guess. Best. PL |

I guess your earlier statement about CBU in the peugeot negates the fuel quality statement. If CBU is happening in europe as well as here, then their higher cetane has little or nothing to do with cbu. It maybe happening at a slower rate, but it is happening. Poor fuel quality is the boogeyman being pushed by the auto manufacturer's. Peace. |

Update: Got the car back yesterday. 4 injectors changed (since 2 are two weeks old). All 6 injectors tested before putting back in the car. Long road test (showed 35km on the odometer). 150km later, no codes so far.
How long for the DDE to give up? |

Got the car back last Thursday. Injection system calibrations done remotely by BMW Canada and 2 days to do road tests. Cost to me: 20$ because they ran out of diesel... the 20$ is in the tank so I didn't complain!
Unrelated: I got the A6D1 code related to auxiliary waterpump numerous times. It seems it's been there for a while since the count is high: Date: 12.10.2014 11:23:58 ECU: JBBF70 JobStatus: OKAY Variant: JBBF70 ------------------------------------------------------------- RESULT: 1 error in error memory ! ------------------------------------------------------------- A6D1 auxiliary waterpump Error counter: 94 Logistic counter: 40 Mileage 145168 km Speed 49.70 km/h Battery Voltage 14.15 volt Signal or value below threshold Test conditions fulfilled Error present now and already stored Error would not cause a warning lamp to light up Error code: A6 D1 62 00 5E 28 46 E2 01 F1 01 FE ================================================== =========== |

Just got my 09 335d back from the shop. They did the walnut blast cleaning and within 2 days the CEL came back on, this time without the reduced power. Going to go in again next week. Arghhhh

I've been having fun with my 2011 335d since I picked it up in May 2014. In all fairness to BMW they have been doing the right thing ensuring I have a loaner at no cost to me and nothing out of pocket.
CPO is the best thing I did and I still have 2 years / 100k kms left on the CPO warranty. This is what my list of warranty claims looks like so far ($10k in parts and labor): Cluster gauge 1 injector 6 injectors 1 injector and throttle body DDE Carbon cleaning (currently there) I still enjoy driving the car and while it is a pain having to drop off the car I am still driving decent cars. 320 xi (meh) 328 xi (not bad) 328d xi (TDI with a BMW badge) Mini Countryman (decent drive) |

^^^reliabilty is as good as any other make/model (IMO, better than most). Forums are a very small community of owners and in many cases owners with issues. You'll see the same type of reliability comments on the Mustang, 911, Cooper, Diesel truck and all other forums. There is a Lemon Law for a reason but that doesn't mean the entire line is a lemon.

Cluster gauge cruise control needle would not go to the right place. That was fixed immediately and only took 2 visits. One to diagnose and order the part. Second to install it. The CEL with injector 2 adaptation error is the second issue and has been ongoing for 6 months. It takes a month at times for it to happen again. So can't fault them for the time. The number of visits is them following process. And you see that in the notes they include in the work order. At this time I have had the carbon cleaning and already running a catch can. EGR block is in my near future with tuning following. As you can see I do plan on keeping this car post CPO. |
