Petronas 5000 av 5w30 or quantum long life good oil?
Hi, doing an oil change on my 335d I 'think' quantum oil was used before but thinking of getting some Petronas synitum 5000 av I see it meets LL04.
Wondering if it's any good and car doesn't guzzle it? Found on previous cars I've owned some differing oil were guzzler by different brands. I've almost got 4 litres left of quantum long life oil so would only need too buy one 5l bottle. Cheers Last edited by Ajs_435d; 12-10-2014 at 11:20 AM.. |

We use it on the Merc's and have when the old Castrol's a bit thin on the ground used it on BMW's as stated conforms to LL04 so you'll have no major worries just doesn't carry the full weight of BMW kudos like Castrol does.

I use the Petronas too, however I bought the 5w30 xs version. I would get the AV one your thinking of as it meets vw 507 which opie says one of the hardest specs to meet so it be a good one.
I can also recommend Gulf oils I will be using that next - cheap and good quality. I did ask opie oils about it. so I guess if it meets LL04 and VW507 it be a good one. http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/...ducts-t274825/ http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-60131-gu...oductApprovals |
