Inspection Porsche Specialist in QLD
Hi Guys,
I'm wondering does anyone of you knows a porsche specialist that can be trusted in Qld? a Friend is looking to buy a 911 930 in QLD it's a 1987 model. He lives in sydney but would like to get it inspected before he flies over to check it out. Anyone can help in Qld?

Best bet is to take it to Porsche to get it inspected. You might also call Porsche South Sydney, which is factory owned and see if they have someone in Qld to help.

Thanks...but since we are on the topic.
Between the 996 turbo and the 996 gt3 which will command a better resale value later??? will the gt3 be more of a rare car vs the turbo??

Turbo or GT3 eh?
My bet would be the Turbo. Retains an element of exclusivity but far more approachable for most people than a GT3. Price ultimately a demand supply question. Relatively few of both models around but probably more natural demand for the turbo. The 996 GT3 is nowhere near as hard core as the 997 versions, but still more track car than daily driver. |

Firstly, no I would not buy it.
There is another 2004 GT3 with 50,000 less k's for sale at pretty much the same price, and a couple of others with low k's for 15,000 more. My Porsche experience is they are far more reliable than my BMW's and in my simple opinion far better engineered. However they are still farkin expensive to fix. I have the same boring advice as most Porsche owners, get Porsche to look at any car you want to but but particularly the very high performance models. |

As a ex porsche owner I can only say they are nice cars but I would not buy another one. Once over 100K the resale value drops off a cliff, they seriously pretty unreliable especially if they are over 5-6 yo, a service every 10K costs upwards of $2500 and when my third gear was playing up and had to get the transmission repaired it took 4 weeks and the bill was $9000
I say buy it, drive it for 6 months, sell it off and the buy a 335i and mod the hell outta it ![]() |

Hmmm still a dosh load of cash to drop on a 10 yo car but $75K is much better then $86K
I would wait until post Christmas, sales of luxury cars go up just before Christmas and nose dive in January. He could get a much better deal in the NY IMO ![]() |
