I saw it when i heard the alarm. Saw the tail of my car. They towed the front wheels, while my car is AWD xdrive. I fight with the towing company but they said they have contract with the apartment.

So what that they have a contract? If they damage your car because the dipshit did not tow it properly then its on them.

Oh and btw, no, SA don't sit around scanning BMW forums to see who's doing what. Dealers don't have time for that shit and even if they found you in a forum posting about some mod done to your car, they have zero proof that it is you unless you use your real name or the cars vin number on here. |

Yeah that's unfortunate that you had to tie it to the dealership so u weren't able to remove ur mods. Having a meth kit is no beuno.

Can The dealer can void the total warranty of the whole car or just the engine warranty only ? because transmission and other stuff like not related to the meth injection. The dealer called me this morning and said that they will not fix the AC , and even charge $160 for diagnostic because they void my warranty.
Can we argue with them on this matter ? |

Go after both of them then. Deeper pockets. Sue for negligence.

They aren't liable for him parking where he isn't supposed to.

Not in most of the US. The fault ends with the idiot parking in the wrong place.

Please show me any facts at all to back that up. The responsibility lies on the towing company to do their job properly. That is what they are paid for, they are the experts. He should be going after the towing company since it seems pretty obvious they messed up the drivetrain.

I had this on my old STI. Fortunately never had to get that far, but maybe something like would be beneficial for all you X-Drivers.

Not that i was parked in wrong way . I park like it in front of my apartment for 3 years. It happen when they change the security staff to ghetto company. That night, when my car got towed, i look around for the security guys but disappear for 2 or 3 hours. Two days ago, i saw that guy get into the tow truck and tow my neighbor car. Security staff does not have the permit to tow cars. Is it correct ?

One thing a lot of folks here are forgetting is most places that tow improperly/illegally parked cars have signs up that state that they will be towed and the owners expense AND RISK. You need to figure out why your complex chose to tow your car in the first place. Just because you have been parking like that for 3 years does not mean you were in the right. The fact that they switched companies and now cars are being towed indicates that, indeed, you were not parking properly and they have simply started enforcing the rules. As for the warranty issues; again, you chose to modify the car. Why is it the responsibility of the dealer to repair it when it gets broken? These are the risks of modifying cars and you signed up to them when you did it. If the car was damaged during the tow and you were parked improperly, that is on you as well. Why would they be responsible to fix it for you? You compounded the issue by bringing in your modified car so they could confirm that you have done something that voids your warranty. Again, why are they responsible?

Expect to pay at least $1600 out of pocket. That includes replacing and coding/registering them.

Are you work for the dealer ? I went through different shop with bmw certified mechanic, they all checked the issue and say the same, meth does nothing to the fuel injection. that fuel injection is the comment problem with these car. The towing part, yeah it on me to pay for the tranmission. But not right for paying the bad injection.
But anyway, thank you for all the reply guys |

Of course it didn't harm your injectors but your injecting alcohol into the engine. You effectively voided your WHOLE powertrain warranty (yes even with no tow if the tranny broke they'd void it based on increased power. doesn't matter if its nonsense or not. Hell I was once denied warranty work on a transmission siting the larger wheels I put on the car caused additional stress. We all know that was bullsh*t. friend took tranny apart for kicks and one tooth broke off 1rst gear, factory defect). You MIGHT get away with passive mods that help the car "breath" or run cooler: intake, intercooler, downpipe, catback, charge pipes. You can't expect to inject anything into your engine or any alterations in tuning and maintain your powertrain warranty. Once you've reached that level of modding they aren't even going to bother dissecting what went wrong system by system, part by part. You essentially make it easy for them to just point out the mod and reject.
