Anyone replace their LPFP
Hi all, just wondering if anyone here has had their LPFP replaced? Done a log on my car and it seems that my LPFP is on a very weak side. Thought or replacing it.

If you plan to run E85 mixes, I think the most economical option is the Walbro 255 inline upgrade but I'm unsure if this is an option when the existing pump is on its way out.
waterbottle1 has the Stage 2 Fuel-it kit which uses a Walbro 450 in tank pump so hopefully he can provide some feedback. I'm not sure whether he sent his bucket back to fuel it or just bought the new build option. |

I have the stage 2 fuelit kit (the stage 1 has known to cause some issues with fuel lines coming loose etc) and i had fuelit source me a used usa based bucket and send me that.
Beware though there is a slight difference between the us and aust buckets, but you can use parts from your existing bucket and transfer to the stage 2 fuelit setup (Advan performance installed mine) |

How much did the stage 2 cost all up, if you don't mind me asking?

Correct. There is a slight differnce of the top of the pump. The US model just has a differnt hose setup. But its a easy fix. Just get your original top and replace with the US one. You can send back the core for a refund to fuelit but i just kept mine instead. Whats ur lpfp dropping to in ur logs? Cost was like 650 aud at the time i think . |

Steve is a standup honest guy, he even refund me $20 or so as the used bucket was cheaper when he went to pay for it! |

I have an unused SteveAZ "Stage 2" I can supply to you. It's actually in one of Peter's display cabinets at Advan. :-) The US spec bucket has a different top-hat from the Aus spec bucket, where it sees an additional fuel tank breather port fitted. Steve now supplies me buckets minus the top-hat to avoid any confusion for customers/installers. You just need to swap over the old top-hat from the OEM LPFP bucket to the new SteveAZ "Stage 2". If you are thinking of using ethanol in the future the Stage 2 is the way to go as the Walbro 450lph pump fitted is 100% E85 compatible. The OEM LPFP is not E85 certified nor is the SteveAZ 255lph inline kit. I only suggest people using an inline kit when they have a new'ish OEM LPFP bucket and they need the extra flow to support better fueling via a back end flash, not necessarily to run E85. That being said a lot of guys in the US do just that and to my knowledge there have been very few problems, but most Stage 1 inline kits were purchased prior to the availability of the Stage 2 buckets... When you see your LPFP numbers waver, is their a corresponding dip on the HPFP rail pressure? Cheers, Justin. |

My LPFP number dropped but the HPFP still maintain.....I would like to run E35% - E40%. I might do another log on E20% and see the outcome.

So to run the same boost (air) requires more E85 (fuel) to produce the correct air/fuel mix. The more your fuel blend has E85, the more volume your fuel system will need to pump - all else being equal. Edit: The benefits of E85 are cooler engine temperatures due to the evaporative properties which cool the cylinder when burning, as opposed to premium unleaded fuel. By maintaining cooler temperatures allows the DME/tune to target higher boost and more timing advance with less chance of knocking/detonating. |
