First performance mods... JB4 + CAI $550 good deal??

I intended to leave my 2011 335i xDrive 6spd stock as it is my daily driver and I already own a 500rwhp c6 corvette for my weekend car...

BUT I wanted some wheels since the stock 161s werent my taste, so when I needed new tires, I also got some black 359s....

And then, bit with the bug, like I was with the vette I started looking around and found on ebay a brand new JB4 plug A and a brand BMS Intake for $550... Call me crazy but I think this was a great deal??

Now looking for charge pipe to handle the extra boost before install everything.

If you are not going to run Meth, Cobb CP $198.

I am always suspect of "deals" but sometimes they're too good to pass up.

ya, so am I... allegedly this seller bought it for his 2011 but totalled the car before installing.. all the pictures looked real and of his own, not a stock photo. And the filter was still wrapped brand new. His feedback was 100% positive with 35+ reviews. Figured it was worth a shot... and paid with paypal so Im covered if its a scam.

Im definitely not planning on meth as its a DD and if I ever changed my mind I could have a bung welded in.
Any reason the Cobb CP say over same priced VRSF? I imagine price is main reason of Cobb versus AA, ER, BMS as they are all $50-70 higher...

Thanks, Chris

Chris I have found that the BMS CP appears to be the most popular on here, it's a very basic part and provides little to no benefit other than not breaking like the stock piece. Mine is a DD so I am right there with you.

I am pretty limited with time so once I finish installing my Injen intake (broke a stock part), I am pretty certain I will get Cobb AP.

Have installed gloss black grills, HD lamps throughout, smoke markers and I will do a few others stuff like an exhaust but I am not gonna mess with alternative fuels.

Oh yeah, need a set of aggressive black rims and I will be removing the badge off the trunk as it's BSM and I feel like a frigging kid. Love it.

Just noticed your 359 wheels, really like them are yours OEM and if not where did you get yours?

timothy.... mine a reproduction from ECSTuning... they are Alzor brand, but are an ECS product. They are really nice and will upload some pics when I get the car cleaned.. had a snow storm the day I had them installed lol

They were only $375 a few weeks ago... and like $90 to ship, but overall is a crazy cheap price. Some ppl may not be willing to buy wheels that cheap, but it was that or not getting wheels at all, so figured worth a try and if they suck ill go back OEM

Just ordered the VRSF CP too... Wanted to go with the stock black color and the Cobb was a shiny charcoal gray from what I saw in pics...

CAI will be no performance increase, but gives you more sound from the engine. CP it seems the ER and VRSF are the most popular. My ER works great.

If the intake and tune are brand new for $550 then that's a steal. I would definitely jump all over that. You'll love that set up. VRSF makes great charge pipes for the money. Fitment was spot on for me.

Make sure to order the FF wires so that you can throw in some e85 and also verify that the USB cable is included. You'll need that to enable ISO.

that is a great deal.. i did the same with JB4, VRSF chargepipe and BMS intake.. just took off the JB4 and BMS intake to take my car in for service tomorrow and i def missed the power/torque without JB4.. with the intake tho, you hear more whish-ing sound then anything else.. i was expecting to hear different sound(like typical intakes on maybe NA engines?) but i guess since its a turbo engine, this is what its supposed to sound like.. i may keep the intake off since that sound is kinda getting annoying/old...

Wouldnt be a bad idea, but theres not even anywhere around me that sells e85. The actual pic on ebay had the jb4, cai, and the usb cable so Im pretty sure its included.

Where in nj are ya dude?
Ill have to see how the intake sounds... If I dont like it ill just go back to stock and sell it... Making it an even better deal, lol. So the difference is that much with the jb4/cai/cp? never been a 335i with it.
Cant wait now!!! lol

im in Morris county. I was in the same boat as u. wanted to be in a 335 w jb4 bef I bought it but everyone who had it said its worth it. u will def fell the kick when it goes over 2500rpm. CP doesn't add any power and intake only like 10hp but that's prob not enough for us to feel it. feels like it's more for sound than anything else.

and wait til u play w e85. there is a station about 20 min from me so I added 4 gallons of e85 to 12 gallons of 93 once. I got the boost to 17-18 psi! pretty fun to see the boost gauge hack to go up that high!

def upgrade to ISO when u install ur jb4. much smoother boost curve.

If it's not included then hold off on the install until you get one. Otherwise you will have to remove the jb4 later on so that you can cut the diode to enable ISO. Also I would recommend getting the FF wires just in case you ever decide to use e85. You would be looking at low to mid 300 whp on pump gas alone Vs 270ish whp stock. That is definitely a noticeable difference.
