By any chance, where you using waze and/or a radar detector? I'm assume no on the detector, and I've never been surprised by a speed trap with waze. It's gotten to the point I don't even bother with the detector unless it's a long, open road trip. The only time the detector went off before waze alerted me was when the car was on my ass, but there was a lot of traffic moving about 60 anyway.

No detector. Been thinking about getting one.

I drove to canada using waze only, and it was spot on 95% of the time.

its an app owned by google in which drivers can report hazards, which include cop sightings, accidents, traffic, broken down cards, pot holes, etc. It has saved me from a ticket many times

i think the police are catching onto Waze. i was using it to go to north fork the weekend after new years. alerted of police half a mile, police were there. alerted another mile listing 3 police chack-ins, not there. then alerted another sighting a mile away that was not there. I guess they use it to try to mark fake sports to slow people down, which is a good thing. but it does help with navigating around traffic and still accurate with accidents and such. that's all i use now for navigation.

I'd say dress up all nice and fancy, show up for your first court date and see where it goes from there. I've seen occurrences where the trooper didn't even show up, either because he forgot or simply because he didn't care. Thats just me though, just a suggestion. As far as lawyers i dont know any good ones sorry.

$500-$1000 for a lawyer to fight a speeding ticket is insane.Max $300 is more like it.Its not like your fighting for your license. During my biker boyz days me and my crew used to use a couple of DMV laywers who fought traffic cases all day. You find these kind at any traffic court, it's basically all they do.
They know all the cops and which judges are hard ass's. The benefit of postponing your ticket is points no longer count 18 months after the ticket is issued. A conviction will stay on your record for the calender yr your convicted and 4 calender yrs after. During my hooligan yrs riding a motorcycle I racked up quite a few tickets(when I wasn't running from the man) and successfully fought won 80% using these laywers.
