Non Dealer Plate

So I just replaced my dealer plate with a plate from a local shop (Not related to any dealership or car sales) I was wondering if a cop can pull you over for that only. Im not really worried about getting a fix it ticket I just wouldnt know what to say if the officer says "Is there a reason you dont have an actual license plate or dealer plate"

if you have the dealer sticker on your front windshield you are fine

CHP doesn't force you to advertise for the dealer you bought your car from. I take not only the ad plate, but also the frame, off as soon as I get a car home. When family bring over their cars for me to detail, I also remove their dealer ad frames.

I don't have anything on my front windshield being that I bought the car used from an auction, I changed the dealer plate that was on it to the plate of a local business but I guess I'm good

If you don't have license plates, the temporary registration on the windshield, or rear window then you should expect to garner some attention from guys with guns and flashing lights

So im guessing I should put some type of temp registration on the winshield? lol I mean officers dont really see the front of your car when theyre behind you

Yes, but being pulled over and having them see this until your license plates are issued...

...Is MUCH better than this at its worst case scenario.

Plus one. You are REQUIRED to have temp registration paper taped to your window, if you don't have your license plate yet. You risk your car being impounded and placed in a tow yard. During that time you will incur yard fees until you provide proof that your car is legally registered.

I keep my front sticker on my window still because I did not want to install my front bumper license plate. (keeps cops away) A friend of mine removed his and a few days later got a no front license plate fix it ticket =X
