Installing catless downpipes in San Francisco Bay Area
Can anyone recommend a reputable place in the San Francisco Bay Area to take my BMW to properly install my downpipes?
In general, what's a good trustworthy independent shop to take our BMW 335i in the city for oil, coolant, brake, etc. maintenance? I took it to an indy shop but they complained that the fitment wasn't as good as they should be and now I am noticing a vibration in the steering wheel when at idle. I don't think it is the DPs as many users have used the same ones. My guess is that the downpipes are rubbing against something because of improper installation. I also heard some rattling that I think is independent of the wastegate rattle. I'd like for a good mechanic to try to adjust the alignment of the downpipes.

7338 Mission St, Daly City 650-758-6500 I get my BMW 535i serviced and modded there. My very good friend with his 335i also goes there. He got his downpipes installed there too. They do a lot of German cars like MB, Audi, BMW. They are the guys where you to solve other mechanics fvck ups. my 535i didn't want to start, cranked and fault codes about fuel injectors, fuel pump plus more and they traced it to a power wire to the ECU. How they found that!? I was gonna change the fuel injectors. |

I'm pretty picky about most things and I can honestly say that I don't smell anything noticeable.

So actually I did smell some exhaust when the car was cold and I stepped out of the car and went around the back. Otherwise I cannot smell it when driving. That said, in a highway traffic jam, my wife who was sitting in the back seat was saying that she maybe smelled some exhaust.
So in conclusion there might be some smell when stopped and then it is not significant.
