Need some advice with radio upgrade

Alright guys so i want to upgrade my HU in my car. Its a 2008 e92 and i was looking into some alpine head units, specifically CDE-HD148BT. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with retrofitting this unit into their car and if i would be able to purchase the alpine upgrade kit through BMW and have it work with this head unit.

Almost any head unit you buy wont work with the factory amplifier since it is connected via fiber optic. Have you considered getting a cic retrofit?

You can put another head unit in but you'll have to switch out the amp.
