16" fit on 2008 328?

I am shopping for winter tires and wheels for my soon-to-arrive 2008 328i convertible with Sport Package.
Can anyone say for sure whether 16" wheels will clear the brake assembly?
I am getting conflicting advice.
Thanks.

they should. the 328 base comes with 16" wheels. the brakes, i believe, are the same for base and sport models. it should be no problem.

Actually, the 328 convertible comes with 17" standard and the front disks are about 1" larger in diameter than the 328 sedan...

The front disks are 312 mm on both the 2008 E90 and E93 328s, sport package or not. Don't know where you got your information from.

Got it under Tech Data on www.bmwusa.com. ...shows 11.8" dia front for 328 sedan, 12.9" for 328 convertible. Did they make a mistake?

Think so. Nonetheless, Tirerack shows 7 16" rims available for the E93 328 and TR doesn't tend to make fitment mistakes. FWIW the Kosei rims they list there are $99 ea and they are decent quality and lightweight. Those would be a good choice.

Yes, I know about TR. Good stuff I hear.
The wheel in question was a heavier-duty construction by another manufacturer. I finally chose a 17" to be sure it fit.
