HELP Wanted! Bumper and Interior Removals

Hi all,

I am wondering if there are any threads already made up on how to remove the Pre LCI front Bumper with as little damage done as possible, and also how to remove and replace the interior trim (I am upgrading to the hex from standard).

Any advice would be amazing and I shall be very grateful.

Thanks,
Kyle.

Can't help with the bumper, but removing the interior trim is pretty easy - you just literally pull it off.
Have a look here

I just took the bumper trim off my LCI this weekend to replace an brake air duct grill. I was worried about it but it was much easier that I thought. I assume the Pre-LCI is similar if not pretty much the same.

1. Remove all the screws underneath that hold the lower part of the bumper trim to the engine splash pan.
2. Remove the screws/bolts that hold the front part of the inner fender liner in.
3. Pull back to reveal the two bolts that connect the bumper trim to the fender panel.
4. Remove the two bolts.
(2 - 4 can be done with wheels on but it is a little tight. Worked fine for me but YMMV)
5. Repeat 2 - 4 for the other side of the car.
6. Remove the four Torx screws just above the kidney grilles.
7. Gently pull everything away. Sticking points might be the two lower outside corners where there is a tab/slot you need to separate and where the bumper trim bolt to the fender as its a tight fit there.
8. Once off, disconnect any wires (for me it was just the fog lights but if you have headlight washers or other such things I assume they will need to be disconnected as well)

That's it. Put back on is just the reverse. For me the toughest/longest part was the two that hold the fender to the bumper trim because I didn't take off the wheels. Made it a tight fit for my hands but the time to take off the wheel and put back on would have been as long if not longer than squeezing my hand up in there.

Good luck!

I do everything as above except point 8. I disconnect the wires after point 2. Just means you dont worry about it once the bumper is off and the as you'll be balancing the bumper in one and and reaching around with the other.

Great spot, I will give it a crack as soon as I get the new fog parts delivered. But thanks again everyone.

Kyle.

Good point. I had enough wire that it just laid on the garage floor flat and easily disconnected. No balancing hence my approach. But I would agree what you state is a safer method just in case.

Just a little pointer as i got stuck first time round and in the end had to rest the bumper on the floor...which reminds me of the another little pointer...make sure you have your designated area with dust sheet (or whatever protection you may need) to set the bumper down. Its not heavy but somewhat awkward.
Basically my thinking is once the bumper is disconnected the only thing that should be left to do is set it down somewhere safe
