Running an Accessport w/o CP?

Hey guys - probably is going to come off as a dumb question but I've heard mixed answers and just wanted to get the opinion of somebody who might have had experience with this. I just ordered an AP, CP and BMS intake for my 335. I received the AP but apparently the CP is held up due to the storm that just came through. I was going to run it w/o the CP for now and wait til the CP gets here to install it. Any horror stories of running an AP without an upgraded CP on the car? Can the stock CP handle it at all or is it very likely to break rather fast. Just wanted an opinion - Thanks.

It's fine, stg 1 maps aren't likely to break the pipe, I ran like that for a year with no problems.

Same here and I have tried most of the maps on there (from a roll, gentle with the throttle) I will be ordering one soon though because I know the stock one will break and I'm on borrowed time running it. Enjoy your new car becuse thats what it will feel like with the AP!

How long have you been running yours on the stock setup / how many miles are on it and have you done your plugs?

i would just run the map and enjoy it. as long as the CP is on the way you won't have much to worry about. the majority have no issues on that tame of a tune although mine did break on stage 1 aggressive haha. if you unscrew the bolt that is holding the CP in the middle it will have more flex and might be less likely to break. just a thought though, not sure how accurate that is. Chris b. has a stock charge pipe since 10' even ran highly tuned e85 maps with no issues meanwhile others break easily. basically all luck of the draw.

I received my AP last March, so less than a year ago. My 2011 335 Xdrive has 50,200 kms = roughly 31,000 miles, orignal plugs still in the car but I do have a new set of Bosch ZR5TPP33 to install this spring. No misfires but my car has developed an unusal surge while idling in drive or reverse while cold, not sure if its plug-tune related. Here was my initial install last march with some numbers I was running http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=961393

If you're running any kind of tune, get a CP. You don't have to install it right away but it's almost guaranteed yours will break. Probably when it's hot after repeated runs. It would really suck to have to not drive the car for a week while you're waiting for the new CP to ship... Happened to me

If you have it ordered already you should be fine, mine did blow about a month or so into the Stage 1 aggressive tune though so don't wait too long.

It's really hit or miss. Some blow stock, others blow minutes after putting on tune and others go years. Best bet is to get a CP sooner then later because when it does blow it's typically at the worst time.

Couple days / weeks with stock CP should not be a problem
