18x9.5 ET22 post LCI E90 fit
Any issues with the above size on a post LCI E90? I was debating between 18 & 19" wheels but with the roads in the DC area I'm thinking that I'm going to be safer going with 18s.
Thanks. |

Do you mean Pre-lci E90? Front and rear?
If so no problems at rear depending on tyre size and how low you are, might need fender roll. For now i have 18x9.5 et22 with 235/40/18 at my car. No rubbing or anything. You can use wider tyre. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...3&postcount=39 18x9.5 et22 will fit front too, but you need 225/40/18 tyre + fender mods and possibly slight camber adjustments. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=847861 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...2#post14121212 But if you have 9.5 et22 at front, then the rear 9.5 et22 could use spacers, because otherwise front is more aggressive than rear. Like those links above.

I was actually asking about fitment for an '09 335i so post-LCI. The 9.5s in those pictures look too wide for the 225/40 tronts & 8.5s might be more appropriate for the tire size. Is there's an ETA that allows the use of 235s in the front instead?
I'd like to use 255s or 265s in the rear, so I assume that I'd need the similar ETA as the stock rear wheels but possibly wider. I'm not looking to slam the car (or have a punishing ride) but I'd like to eliminate the tire-to-fender gap so I might go with coilovers in order to achieve this. Thanks for the links! |

Few examples. 18x9.5 et22 with 225/40 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...25&postcount=1 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...29&postcount=1 http://carsxhype.com/2013/03/28/duys-e90/ Soon i have my own example, because i have ordered 18x9.5 et22 with 225/40 front and 18x10.5 et15 with 255/35/18 rear for my pre-lci E90 But, for now i have 18x9.5 et30 with 235/40/18 at front and it works just fine. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...3&postcount=39 If you find 18x9.5 et30 square setup then it will look exactly like mine above^. Except you can use 255 or 265 tyre at rear with fender roll. Since Et30 at rear on Lci is the same as et22 on pre-lci. If you consider to use 9.5 et22 on LCI rear i would go with 255/35/18. Et22 on lci is the same as et14 on Pre-lci. Here is pre-lci e91 with 19x9.5 et16 and 255/30 and fenders rolled. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=837429 But if you want to use 265/35 at rear then you need higher offset.

Here is one more LCI 18x9.5 et26 235/40/18 front and 18x10.5 et25 with 265/35/18 rear with fender roll and slight pull, but it was still rubbing after that at rear, when car was full. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...52&postcount=1 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...6&postcount=76

So, I run a 10et25 w/ 265s in the rear (rounded sidewalls:hankooks) an the setup rubbed on OE sport suspension big dips at speed or serious turns. With a little bit of trimming and a little bit of rolling, the setup now works with no rubbing.
Also, I drive in dc daily and much prefer the ride quality on my 18s to that on my 19s...with that said, I rock the 19s in summer anyway. Sits like this (sorry for the big picture)...

The rear is definitely going to need some work to fit. Generally our customers run higher offsets in the rear to avoid doing any modifications to the quarters.

Fronts actually could us some spacrs. I think they're 8.5 et35, 8mm should bring them out just about perfectly, but I would need to also invest in some hub extenders. Will edit if wrong.

This is my 18x9.5 et35 with 235/40/18 and lowered H&R sport View post on imgur.com If you go with coilovers then you need something like 5mm spacer. Infact if you get the wheels you can use the 5mm spacer anyway, then it will clear inside and still no need for modifications. I did that too 18x9.5 et35+ 5mm spacer and 235/40/18 View post on imgur.com The 18x9.5 et35 with 265/35/18 will fit to rear, but you most likely need fender roll to rear. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...0&postcount=19 Compared to this^ the 18x9.5 et35 wheel would extend 3mm more at front. Rear is the same of course. You could consider 5mm spacer to rear too, if you have front spacer, so it match the front better. Then you likely need fender roll.

No problem. Glad i can help. Are you going with Apex ec7? I want to give you better solution to what specs to choose
18x9 et31 with 235/40/18 to front 18x10 et33 with 265/35/18 to rear This way front has similar "stretch" with rear. The 18x9 et31 wont need spacer to clear inside. Not even with coilovers. It will extend to practically same point as 18x9.5 et35. The 9 wide has the same concavity as 9.5. The 18x10 et33 will look better and is little bit more flush than 9.5 et35 at rear. It will need fender roll to rear but thats it. The 18x10 et33 on Lci is the same as 18x10 et25 on Pre-lci.

Guys, keep reading, but still a lot of questions.
So here is one. I want to upgrade my stock 193Ms to something forged and lightweight. Want to stay with 18"s and keep factory sport suspension. Can and will most likely have to do rear fender rolls but do not want to do any fender mods besides that. Plan to run factory size tires or go 235/265 way. Front 18x8.5 et30 will be ok, but will 18x9.5 et20 on the rear be ok with just a fender roll? I can go et40 plus spacers but kinda want to keep that concavity. For now, those are only offset options. And this is on an E90 LCI. Thanks a bunch. |

Hope I can make some more things clear to you. I'm driving BMW E90 325 LCI with some Apex EC-7. - Front: 9J et31 with 225/40 R18 Michelin PSS => NO rubbing!! - Rear: 9,5J et22 with 255/35 R18 Michelin PSS (old version Michelin tyre without rim protector) + rollend fenders => No rubbing!! - Rear: 9,5J et22 with 255/35 R18 Michelin PS3 (new generation Michelin tyre always with rim protector) + rolled fenders => RUBBING! - Rear: 9,5J et22 with 245/35 R18 Hankook evo S1 (with rim protector) + rolled fenders => No rubbing!! So you can see that I already spent a lot of money on tyres for my EC-7 set-up on my E90 LCI in the rear. Every tyre is different and has is owne tyre curve/profile/rimprotector! I prefer the Michelin tyres, but Michilin only produces tyres with wheel protector since a few years ago. So if I want to drive on Michelin's in the back, maximum size I can use is 245/35!!
