Is anything different about removing BMW wheels?

Ok, so I was going to remove my wheels to install my new Lux V6 LED's but I found that my wheel was stuck on the hub after removing all the bolts. It wouldn't budge at all. However, after the shock of seeing wheel bolts vs the lug nuts I'm used to, I thought perhaps there is some other kind of release mechanism for the wheel? I did a search and didn't see anything regarding this so now I'm thinking it was just frozen on.

So is it safe to simply pound it off?

BTW, it turns out that you don't really need to remove the wheels to install the angel eyes.

If it's still on there after removnig the 5 lugs then it's 'frozen' on. Probably rusted. I usually take another wheel w/tire and roll it into the one stuck on the car

Comes off like a regular wheel. Hit the edge of the tire so it comes off

Kick it with the heel of your foot....it should come off after a few blows....it's stuck on the hub....will release if you get enough leverage to un-stick it.

Just remember they are bolts not studs. So when you tap the wheel to break it free its coming off with nothing to hold it up!
