Need to add Seat Heater switches to Manual Climate control
I've searched for my specific issue, and haven't had any success... though there are several discussions on swapping seats (non-sport to sport, non-powered to powered, etc.).
I'm considering swapping sport seats into my 2007 E90 SE (non-sport) sedan. Currently have manual, non-heated seats. I found a set of manual sport seats, that are heated. My biggest concern is the button/switch for the seat heaters. I have manual climate control (no display, 3 dials) and am not sure how or where I would put the seat heater buttons. I hear that swapping auto climate controls into a car with manual climate controls doesn't really work. Not sure if the combo of manual climate with seat heaters exist, so I don't know if buying a seat heater ashtray module (often done when people do a double din HU) would have somewhere to plug in at the back of my climate controls. My second issue is just not having power for my heated seats (or lumbar, which I understand require power even on manual sport seats). This is a bit of a lower priority as I have seen threads that talk about getting power to seats when doing a power-seat swap. Can anyone help me? Any thoughts at all? One thought I had was to use aftermarket buttons, but not sure how that would work with the 3-stage heated seat. As always, look forward to the wealth of experience here. Thanks!
