Evening all - what are the best options for lowering an e92 330d with se suspension? Don't really want to spend more than £250 unless there's little point buying anything for less.

There are 3 bands of coilovers you can get for around £250 JOM, TA technix and FK street - Would anyone recommend either of these based on first hand experience?

I'm told the se shocks won't hold up for long with lowered springs so not sure there's much point in just sticking some lowered springs on.

What's the best options for us lot with SE suspension and the big derv engine?

Thanks

Mate BMW are known for their handling, u have invested good money in buying one, why spoil it all by cheaping out on FK's and JOM

As a bare minimum invest in some good BC coilovers

Mob17 has a thread dedicated to suspension have a read through, offers really good options at a wide price range

cheap coil-overs are a complete waste of time and will ruin your cars ride/handling

Completely agree - I don't want to use anything that's going to be worse than my SE suspension.

Sounds promising - where did you source yours from?

I wouldn't bother with anything sub £500 tbh, just wasting your time.

From what I've read I think it's only the 335's that have m sport suspension regardless of SE or not. All other SE's actually have SE suspension

Bought directly from Germany as it's almost £100 cheaper than in UK.

Complete waste of time/money IMO. Why sit a £30k+ car on £250 budget coilover suspension?

I'd go for some Bilstein B14's, there are some brand new on ebay ATM for around £675.

I was contemplating going with a cheaper suspension myself. I ultimately decided on getting the KW V2's after my friend slammed me for thinking of putting a cheap suspension on "The Ultimate Driving Machine". Hahaha Do it once and do it right! You won't regret it.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I completely agree I don't want to fit anything that's going to ruin the handling.

Think I might fit some decent springs whilst I save for a good set of coilovers
