Did you ever get your retrofit working? I sold you my other one not thinking I'd want the retrofit later lol

Yup, my retrofit is working great. BMW apps, music streaming, snap-in in the arm rest with my old iphone 4s permanently snapped in. I love it. Only thing left to do is a FBAS retrofit next summer for ipod video out, code in vehicle in motion, etc.. only thing that i can't get working is my sirius tuner retrofit, so i gave that up! find my thread for the retrofit. More of a journal.. lots of help from fellow members which has been great !

With the snap in, do you have to unlock the iphone each time to make apps work? I have a 4s I leave in the center console permanently but having to unlock whenever i get in the car is annoying! And if I turn off the auto lock, the screen will stay on forever.

that's where jailbreak and activator come in handy

i have it unlock and enable wifi to tether to my phone when it gets power, then open the bmw connected app. when power is off, it turns off wifi and locks the device.

Thanks guys! i jailbroke my iphone 4 today, installed activator, and installed no sim alert (nosimalert) in cydia to remove the NO SIM nag screen I got each time my iphone booted.

Turn on the car, iphone turns on, unlocks, loads BMW CONNECTED
Turn off the car, iphone turns off
