JB4 Install Help!!
So I followed the instructions from Burger Motorsports for how to install the JB4 in to my 08 335i and now my car won't crank. All I get is the interior lights coming on, and reset clock light, no cranking of the engine at all. I did completely remove the ecu first to route the usb cable into my glove box, but didn't disconnect the battery cable and my keys (comfort access) may have still been in range. Please tell me I didn't kill my car as this is my daily driver... Anyone please help me!!!

This time however, maybe not skip step one: keep the FOB far away from the car and wait at least 20 minutes, for the car to go to sleep. On a more basic level, did you attach the power wire for the JB ?

I did connect the JB4 box and the power to it as well. I'll try and get some pictures, but I went back and disconnected the battery returned it all back to stock, hooked the battery back up and it is still not cranking. Once I connect the battery back up the interior lights just keep flickering and now I get nothing to the instrument cluster...

ALWAYS plug out your battery before messing with any electronics in the car, especially the ECU/DME. It says so pretty clearly in the BMS directions as well.
Hopefully you didn't brick your ECU/DME, I have seen quite a few people who try to install it themselves brick them but it always because they dont follow/read directions.

I think I am learning that the hard way
I may have been too eager to get it installed. Here is a video of what I am seeing now. No response from the car whatsoever and I can hear a relay in the fuse box clicking. Sorry for the sideways video. |

That video is private. You have a voltmeter to test the battery or if you have a charger, try starting it with the charger connected. I'd also post on the N54tech.com support forum as well.

Battery reads 11.5V and is less than a year old. Video now public. I can't crank it because nothing responds like the battery is dead, think I fried the ECU.

Thanks for the input guys. It was just the battery getting drained from the failed starting from initial install. Returned car to stock, charged battery, and cranked up fine. Put all my aftermarket parts back in and installed JB4 with success and not a single error code!! Car runs better than ever
