Got car detailed at BMW, was given bottle of wax, help applying!?

So the detailer told me he had a bit of wax left over and he gave it to me in a bottle. He said it's specifically for black cars (my car's Jet Black), but he didn't give me directions on how to apply it.. I am not in that location anymore and can't seem to get ahold of him, so if anyone could give me a tip on applying this stuff to my car I'd appreciate it.. It just looks like a black liquid, and I've never applied liquid wax, only carnaubas and such.

Thanks!

It is probably a colored wax, there are many websites like autogeek and detailedimage that can show you how to do it. Using a foam applicator, it should not be a lot of work

yeah, because they used glaze wax, which just wash off, to hide the swirl rather than spending the time to polishing them off properly. never go to dealer for detailing, they often hire the lowest bidder.

So that's probably what he gave me in that bottle, a glaze wax? So is it garbage to use on my car? I only did it because a $70 detail was more appealing than a $700 paint correction!

Under the lights at the detailers bay it looked awesome when he was done, but a week later I took it to rinse off the dust that had accumulated and all the swirls came back lol..

That's called bait and switch. Like putting makeup on a pig. Bring your car up to St. Pete I'll do a full detail for $350

I've gotten baited and switched by a 19 yr old kid, nice lol..

Do you remove the swirls and all that as well? I hit up Gary Dean in Tampa but he said $700 for a full paint correction..

It's a side job/hobby for me but yeah I do all my friends and coworkers cars. I think I still have a thread in the FL section about detailing but I do it out of my house so $350-400 for me is a good day's work. I'm sure Gary Dean is licensed and insured if he blows up your car:]

Edit- found it: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=973675

Find a local guy in your area. I'm sure someone can help you out for less than $700 and do a damned fine job.

Damn I just checked out ur thread, awesome work man!

Would it be pointless for me to drive up there for a detail, and drive back home on 75 lol? I've been contemplating those clear bras but unsure if that'd be smart to put on a freshly detailed car, or any car at all for that matter as I've just began researching them..

I've never had someone drive a long distance for me to detail their car before, like I said mostly coworkers and friends and local guys. In most cases I keep the car garaged overnight to let the sealant cure and in some cases a full detail can take 10+ hours or more. Honestly if I were you I'd post in the Florida section, someone may even come to your house.
