Question Bogus Brake Pad Warning? (X5 but i guess applies to all BMWs)

So the E70 X5 had a brake pad warning indicator come up with 29k on the clock. (it's also got brake fluid but i'll get round to doing that myself when it stops snowing)

So i went into the vehicle info on the car to see which pads (front or back) were needing changed. The Back is showing 14k till replacement and the front 29k till replacement.

And now today the indicator is showing nothing. I would have thought if the wear indicator wire thing had worn down to the metal it would constantly have been on.

Anyone else had that happen or got an idea why it would flash up a couple of times and then not?
