225/45/17 RFT to 235/45/17 PSS
Hello everyone,
I have a few questions regarding wheels and appreciate any help. I searched for the same topic and while I did find a similar question (regarding 18's) there were no responses. I have a 2011 335i coupe (LCI). So I have Style 339 225/45/17 Run-flat tires currently and found a great deal on new Michelin PSS 235/45/17 tires. My question is, will these fit ok without any issues? The calculator on the forum says the following: "Based on your stock wheel setup, your new wheel will have: THE SAME clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will extend to THE SAME point as the stock wheel" with the percent difference being 1.399% (is this bad?). I would like to get a tune soon (JB4 or Cobb) and was wondering if you think 235 PSS tires could handle the extra power traction-wise. The current run-flats have pretty terrible dry traction if I'm really pushing them (26k on them). I originally wanted to get some Apex wheels in either 18' or 19' but I do not mind the look of Style 339's and the tires are much much cheaper. Thanks! |
